CARTOONS BY DON PYKE

Don captured many moments on our fridge white board. We were saved these few by scanning them. They may not seem as special if you weren't there but they trigger special, if embarrassing, memories for us.

There are days we can't get Toby to shore and it is a relief for him and us if he will use the deck. When in choppy waters, he has trouble balancing on three legs. Wanting to encourage the activity, George occasionally lends a helping hand, literally and figuratively. Don captures the moment here.

Last year we had no boat memento to place on Boo Boo Hill since we didn't know of the tradition. This year we asked Don to bring art supplies, and using a piece of flotsam he created a great sign. We all hiked to the top of the hill and placed it. There are photos, but Don marked the occasion with this sketch.

It is getting harder to find live conch. We do see them in the Exumas Land and Sea Park, but of course there is no fishing, collecting, or shelling in the park.

We celebrated George's 63 birthday aboard with a nice day of sailing. George thinks he does his full share of work aboard, especially under sail but Don offers another view.
