Florida Keys

We thought we might not get a weather window to cross the Gulf Stream in a reasonable amount of time and had, as Plan B, thoughts of going to the Florida Keys and thus, started this section of photos.

As it happened, we headed for the Bahamas at a reasonable time, but we have decided to leave our Key Biscayne time as a small but nice separate section of photos.

No Name Harbor near the south end of Key Biscayne, Florida is a great jumping off point to cross the gulf stream and a nice place to visit. This year we have new bikes and are really enjoying the trails through the park.

We see Lynn heading out, The Cape Florida Lighthouse, and the two of us with bikes with the lighthouse in the back ground.

George on the radio with Chris Parker looking for a favorable weather window to cross.

Christmas spirit was not lacking in No Name Harbor but perhaps Fred and Joyce on Joy2Sea had more than most.

Departing No Name Harbor near the south end of Key Biscayne and Cape Florida we could see Stiltsville.

We had another good view of the Cape Florida light house.

The tug/trawler Joda with Miami in the background crossed the Gulf Stream on Sunday 12/27 at the same time as Sunspot Baby.
