Provisioning is a HUGE
part of preparing to go south. The easiest member of the crew to
provision for is Toby, Head of Security. His dietary needs are pretty
simple but he goes through a 22 lb. bag of food each month. As he ages
he needs more specific food and while bagged dog food is available in
the Bahamas, we probably wouldn't find the exact stuff and it is much
more expensive. So even for the dog, we follow Lynn's priorities in
provisioning, Availability, Cost, and Convenience. Thus, we take six
bags with us. Here Toby is making sure we have an adequate supply. |

Even when we are not cruising Lynn prepares her own
chutney which is a must for her great Indian dishes. She just
completed a batch which will give us plenty for the cruise and a few
to give to friends. |

A trip to Trader Joe's and Sam's club on Oct. 29
netted a Volvo load of goodies for the trip. There should probably be
some photos of work on the boat or it will seem preparing is all about
food. Honestly, there are other things happening. |
